What is the error code? if it is "ox80042109", this means that Outlook couldn't connect to your SMTP (outgoing mail) server. Is your mail account provided by the same people that are providing your DSL connection? Many ISPs now block access to any SMTP servers but their own (you can thank the spammers for that restriction...), so if someone other than your DSL provider is hosting your mail you may be blocked from sending mail through your mail provider's servers. If that's the case, contact your DSL provider and see if they have an SMTP server you can use as the outgoing server in your account.
